brigance, for the teacher in the room

the brigance early childhood family covers two things a teacher usually meets: the brigance screener (a short developmental screen at intake) and the brigance inventory of early development iii (a criterion-referenced inventory used to track skills across the year).

what a teacher actually does

the screener runs about 15 minutes per child at intake. the inventory runs across the year, one skill area at a time. the teacher records mastery, writes a short summary for the family, and flags children for a deeper look when a score suggests it.

where tiny signals helps

the brigance forms hold the scores. tiny signals holds the writing around them: the family-facing summary, the follow-up letter when a screener suggests a next step, the conference draft.
